What we now know as Ofsted Inspections began in 1840. The school log books have a number of reports from “His/Her Majesty’s Inspectorate” including a report from 1914. A hundred years later in 2014 we had a very similar report and we can celebrate being a great school for the last hundred years.
“This is a very well managed school. The Headmaster’s duties of organisation, control and supervision are discharged with ability and energy. There is an atmosphere of steady and intelligent work throughout the school and as most of the children come from good homes this attainment are such as reflect credit on their teachers. Whilst much of the work is of a high quality special mention may be made of the composition of a large proportion of the boys and girls in the highest class which is of unusual merit”
