Sponsorship

June 16, 2011

We rely heavily on the support of local organisations for their generous sponsorship throughout the year. These funds go a long way to enhance the children’s school experience. Our fundraising activities are organised by Southfield Parent Staff Association (SPSA), which is a registered charity. Therefore sponsorship opportunities come with tax advantages.

In 2012 fundraising is focused on garden enhancement, new playground equipment, art projects, theatre visits and music activities. Previously, funds raised have been used for our sensory garden in the junior playground, playground refurbishment, to provide stage and lighting equipment for school productions and to update computer equipment.

Our Regular Car Boot Sale – Monthly – February to November

Our car boot sale is one of only two regular car boot sales in W4. We advertise on Chiswick W4 and have recently posted our sale on a number of car boot websites. Average monthly figures indicate around 220 people coming every month on average (buying and selling). This has grown since 2009 and promises to grow further. Sponsorship of the car boot sales can include a company logo, a link on our car boot website and in the main list of 2011 sponsors on the school’s website.

Our ‘Sunflower’ Summer Fete – Turnham Green

Our fete is our biggest single fundraising event and is open to the public. Our most recent fete was on 18th June 2011. Sponsorship from over 50 local businesses was superb.   We had around 800 visitors to the fete itself, which took place on the main area of Turnham Green.  We offer Estate Agents the opportunity of advertising our fete on boards outside parents houses in the weeks running up to the fete.  Additionally organisations can sponsor a stand or number of stands to include a prominent sign with company information/logo and a thank you plus mention on our website. Examples below:

Garden enhancement

We have several green areas around the school including a nature area and sensory garden.  These provide some welcome green play space for our children, many of whom have either very small gardens at home or no garden space at all.  The maintenance and renewal of annual plants is costly and time consuming.  We are always on the look out for help in the form of donated plants, resources or garden equipment.  Contact Nusrat Ghani, Volunteer Head Gardener on nusghani@hotmail.com for more information.

Social Events

These are open to all families connected to the school and are advertised in our weekly school newsletter which goes to all families. Local companies can sponsor any of the following:  details and logo are included in parent newsletters as well as in other materials.

• Main sponsor of the International Food Evening (family event for around 200 attendees)

• Sole sponsor of Annual Quiz evening (adults event – usually 100 attendees)

• Sole sponsor of the Annual Auction and late summer party (adults event – big fundraiser – usually 120 attendees)

• Option of being the main sponsor of all 3 annual events
